Hey there! My name is Katie Giddeon, and I run Jumpstart Learning Station here in Derby, KS. I have always dreamed of a career that includes working with children. At 14, I began taking child development classes and tutored elementary students 1:1. By my first year in college, I knew I wanted to become a teacher! For 5 years, I worked as a paraeducator while attending Southwestern College. In 2013, I graduated with my degree in Elementary Education and began teaching at an elementary school in USD 259. Several years ago, I left the district to help with a family ran business and to enjoy more time with family. Teaching is my passion, though, and I just couldn't leave it behind! After careful consideration, I decided to open a daycare that focuses on creative learning, social/emotional skills, and kindergarten preparation. Jumpstart Learning Station is now a fully operational, licensed in home daycare that combines the comfort of a home with the knowledge and tools of an experienced educator. Want to know more?
